Its a little advanced for Kindergarden, but with very little modification to fit our needs/attention, its a beautiful guide through history. Will never regret this purchase and I cant wait to work through more! Its already options discussions about the world, maps, people and cultures. So fun. Ps. Why am I just learning about Leif Erikson now??? Happy my kids will know more accurate history than I did (and I got a 5 on my AP US history exam).

BFB is my favorite way to study History!

This is my second time purchasing the Early American History guide. I loved it so much my first time through, I gave it to a friend to use with her kids. Now I’m planning on it for my new first grader. There are topics for discussion and you can go as deep as you want on them. For first grade I plan on using the picture books and rabbit trails to give a thorough introduction to main historical figures and national holidays.

Honestly, loving it so far. My daughter wants more, more, more. Learning really is exciting!

We are three lessons in - my children are happy and engaged. I'm learning with them. I wanted something open and go AND that would give us some freedom and suggestions to add more for the topics they were really interested in. This curriculum is exactly what we need.

We have used the Geography books with our co-op and I found that the books, lessons and food suggestions were excellent. I'm happy that I purchased American History ( and the science book!)

My kids love all the books! We just started but they are already more inspired about history than ever before.

Love it! Especially all of the additional things - recipes, rabbit trails, etc.

Bought this book , and throughout this course ALOT of the links used for lessons , are either broken or don’t exist anymore. I think they need to revise and not have links to go with the lesson. Had to improvise a lot with different videos to replace.

This is an incredible book list for teaching history to young kids. However, some of the note booking feels like busywork and hasn't added anything for my kids. I also have them give a narration after each reading instead of asking specific questions. A couple of the books are too advanced for this age and are hard for them to follow. I use it as a guide.

Giving this 5 starts because my kids absolutely love it! The lessons are not long and easy to follow.We’re doing the first grade curriculum and my 6 year old asks to read our books every day! The questions are thought provoking and we find ourselves talking about the main character throughout the day. I definitely recommend this curriculum.

So far I love it. Can’t wait to use it this year.

We enjoyed this guide and the books recommended so entirely! My son frequently asked if we could do extra history or just finish a book instead of waiting for the next day's lesson. We read many of the recommended supplemental texts as well. Best of all, this has given my son a hunger for history and he is now asking me to read him more history books for pleasure. We used this for his 1st grade and part of his 2nd grade.

Amazing resource

I used Beautiful Feet Early American History for 2 years when I homeschooled with my own 2 children while they were in 1st and 2nd grade, then I used it for 20 years as a 1st grade teacher in a private Christian school, and now I recommend all of the Beautiful Feet Curriculum to the families on my roster as an Independent Study K-6 Teacher for a Charter School in CA for the past 5 years. This, in my opinion, is the best Social Studies Curriculum out there because of its Literature Approach that makes it so much more memorable to students. I have had students tell me 20 plus years later that they still have their History Journals and they still remember the stories and lessons from their 1st grade classroom.

My daughter isn't really into History she is more into Science so doing History daily was such a chore until we found this!!! What a blessing this History has been for our homeschool journey. My daughter loves History now and wants to do it daily, WIN for me!

We left Classical Conversations, but were still using some of the history sentences to create a timeline and history curriculum at home with my six & four year olds. After reading more Charlotte Mason, and trying to follow CC for a few months, I felt the history was way too rushed, and that the timeline was leaving way many gaps. This curriculum spends the perfect amount of time on each period, with ample opportunity to go down "rabbit trails" as different topics pique different students' interests.I can't wait to use the intermediate level, but this was perfect for now.

We started using your primary grade early US history and we are very much enjoying it. My kids are retaining more information, and they really enjoy coloring the pictures that go with the books. My oldest is using US and World Modern History and she really enjoys reading biographies and stories about real people, so this is perfect for her as well. Thank you so much for helping children learn through quality literature! I’ll definitely be purchasing all of your history curriculum at some point.

For several years, my kids haven't enjoyed history and it's been a bit of a chore. And then I found THIS book. I used it for 1st, 3rd, and 5th (using rabbit trails to deepen it). It was a deep, thorough, thoughtful study that we walked through all year. My kids were sad when it ended and so was I! The books was GORGEOUS, the glossy paper & pictures are exactly what I need as a teacher. The literature books--there was only one book I didn't like...and my kids loved it even still! Can't speak enough great things about it. BF: I wanted to follow this study with the rest of American history after 1850 but there isn't one for K-3 and the middle school ones are just too old for my younger 2 kiddos. Would love to see you expand the series, but will modify yours until you do!

I purchased in hopes that this source would be free of CRT. I was a history major in college and early American history was one area I focused. It is sooooo hard to find a curriculum that doesn’t think all the founding fathers were faultless and saved Christians and is still free for CRT… I was hoping I had finally found it! But sadly… nope. I am only to “the colonies” and already I’ve had to correct a TON. I have a particular problem with “encounter” so far. Complete rubbish. The ONLY thing it was good for is to explain that different cultures have different perspectives. But the facts remain that even Germans and English were once tribal peoples that were beaten and colonized by the Romans. The Romans would refer to them as “Barbarians” just like Europeans called the tribal American’s “Savages”. The Europeans were once pretty much all slaves as well even during this time period. Which is why new land was such a big deal and why people would risk their lives for freedom!And yes, we conquered the Americas. Just like they did to each other and others did to Europeans ancestors… and has been done since the beginning.The framing of this was just so CRT and Marxist… yuck. Since it was so expensive, we’ll keep using it this year… but definitely we’ll have to find a better option in the future and I have to make sure I read and edit all the books before going through them with my kids.

I reviewed this once before when we read “encounter “ which is complete and utter garbage, but we have now finished the school year. This curriculum is horrible. There are so many historical inaccuracies especially with how they handle Slavery and Indians. The white man is evil and everyone else is great. And it’s just Americans. The rest of the world is wonderful. I know it’s not a world curriculum, but the way the subjects are addressed is in a way that the prejudice arises out of the American spirit and not that it was the remnants of the old ways of thinking.I wonder what the authors would say if they found out about all the dark brown American slave owners… instead of going with what actually happened and looking at sources, they go with the hearsay narratives that have been going more and more “America bad” for the last 50 years.

I did this with my son from 2nd-3rd Grade. We LOVED it so much and both of us learned new things. That's one thing I love about literature is I get to learn so much with my children. My only suggestion is that the curriculum goes from grades 2nd-Middle School with 2 books being too advanced - Pilgrim's Stories and the Year of the Horseless Carriage for elementary age level. Otherwise it was our favorite program so far!

No words can truly express how much we LOVED this curriculum. When we started I had a pre-K, 1st, and 3rd grader and we took our time and did this within a year and half doing 3 lessons or so per week. The books are incredible but not too overwhelming for even a 5 year old to listen to. The questions are so brilliant and thought provoking we almost always dove into more research because the questions make us ask our own questions and do our own research. You can make it harder or easier depending on what you want and what levels your kids are at. I was thrown into homeschool with the 2020 madness and this is the SOLE thing that kept me going and made me LIKE homeschooling. We were learning and it was FUN. I was re-learning and also getting shifts in perspective and it just made me cry like once a week because it was so incredible. It seems pricy, but I am telling you, there is ALOT packed into the price and I would pay double knowing what I know now. I don’t usually write reviews but remember reading them when I started this journey... These folks at BF truly put so much effort and genius into this. You won’t regret it.
