Beyond fabulous. It was so much more than what I learned in school (I graduated from Berkeley). We are learning together as a family. Your curriculum is more than books, it has become another aspect of our lives and we look forward to each next study."
—Ashley
I wanted to write and tell the family at BFB how grateful we are for their dedication to creating outstanding materials. Your study’s are simply outstanding! We have used almost all of them and cannot recommend them highly enough. The Early American Study, Character Through Literature and the History of Science and Classical Music were the best things we have studied in our homeschool career. They are exceptionally engaging, interesting and appropriate for all ages and grades. As a homeschooling Mom of 11 years I have researched & purchased curriculum from hundreds of publishers and none compare to the quality of BFB. I credit your Early American History primary grades, for the love of reading & learning in my daughter. We could hardly wait to open the books and be taken away to that time in history. So many are beautifully illustrated which made the learning so much more interesting. The teacher guides always provided thoughtful questions that we would continue to discuss well after the study was finished. Life lessons and character development are woven into every study and the values that we have tried to instill in our daughter are clearly reflected and reinforced. Learning does not need to be boring! Thank you for presenting so much history, especially of the United States in a thoughtful way that gives even the parents a greater appreciation for our country and the important characters that shaped our nation and world. I learned so much along side my daughter! What a blessing your company has been to our family!! As a side note every year we have our daughter tested and her reading comprehension and vocabulary scores have been in the 99% every year. We attribute this to the terrific books of Beautiful Feet. Thank you!!
—Hilary W.
I have been aware of your company since we started homeschooling 19 years ago, but only every used the geography study. WHY????!! The history resources I ordered are gorgeous - you all REALLY made them not only well organized, but a FEAST for the eyes, mind, & heart. I cannot wait to get started on these & also plan to do as many rabbit trails as I can! And order the science this fall.... gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous.
—Shannon J.
We are very much enjoying the curriculum. The teacher's manual is excellent-- I didn't realize how much would be in there! The extra resources, recommendations for videos online, and "historical table" menu are so nice. I have been looking for a history curriculum just like this for a couple of years now, and stumbled across your website... it is exactly what I hoped for! I am homeschooling a preschooler and a first grader, with a baby in tow. I love reading aloud to my children, and my eldest loves writing in her notebook and coloring in the pictures.
—Lydia
Thank you so much for including diverse voices in your curriculum, it speaks volumes. We’ve been so happy with our BFB experience and plan on being long time customers :)
—Lauri, S.
We've really been enjoying the study! My husband taught it for a month when I had a baby in March and he says he wishes he had learned history this way. Me too! This has made history a joy to teach in our home.
—Melinda
Thanks so much for your help. My kids have really enjoyed your products. I interviewed my 18 yo when he graduated last summer. He completed Modern US and World in 10th grade and then went to Community College full time for 11th & 12th grade. I asked him what he enjoyed most about homeschool, and he said reading the books (Modern US) and having discussions with his dad.
—Beth
We love your early elementary series. Last year we completed the Around the World. The kids looked forward to our study time each week. They loved the book choices, beautiful colorful teacher guide and the art/notebooking. We are just starting the Early American series but when we opened the box the kids were thrilled. Thank you for creating such wonderful curriculum. We have five kids very close in age, and I find using your studies brings peace to our days as I can teach everyone at once and they love it.
—Shannon
I am in love with this study guide and the beautiful literature it goes with. I have been using the Early American guide with my kindergarten and second grade son for 7 months and we are about halfway through the guide. I love that the focus is on people and their story rather than redundant facts and dates. My kids feel so connected to the characters we have read about like they know them. They are gaining so much more than any text book could give them. I truly see them building relationships with the history of our country and the heroes who made it what it was today. I know they will remember these books and stories forever. Thank you Beautiful Feet for enriching our homeschool days!
—Sarah
I am on year two of the Early American History set from Beautiful Feet Books and my children and I L-O-V-E the materials. I have an 8yo, 7yo and 5yo twins. History with Beautiful Feet is actually my favorite part of the homeschool day. I am not sure that I would ever have said that reading history books would be in my top 3 things to do in a single day, but it certainly has become a real favorite. Thank you to your team for helping bring school subjects to life for those of us in the homeschool realm.
—Katherine P.
I wanted to let you know per your recommendation two years ago I switched the world history program I was using for my small children to BFB's Early American History. It was truly the best decision in our home education. The kids and I loved the books and the program so much! We took our time, added books and videos that related to our studies. And best of all my husband's work which takes him everywhere allowed us over the course of two years to visit Jamestown, Mount Vernon, Victory at Yorktown, Colonial Williamsburg, twice to Montpelier, three times to Monticello, John & John Quincy Adams home, and Valley Forge National Park. My kids love history, which pleases me of course, loving history as much as I do. They came back from these "field trips" excitedly describing to family and friends what they saw or did. You would think they were talking about some rock star. LOL. History really came to life for them with BFB and our trips. And we truly made wonderful family memories along the way! Thanks for helping me way back then. I was new to the home education world and nervous because the world history program didn't feel right, but didn't want to "mess" up my kids by switching. You took the time and answered my questions. Thank you!
—Jennifer Prince
This is our first school year using Beautiful Feet Books, but it definitely won't be our last. We used the Early American History Intermediate Pack for my daughter's 4th grade year, and we loved every minute of it. She loves these books so much that she takes them to bed with her for free reading time. Several times throughout the year I would assign her a reading, and she would tell me that she already finished the whole book. A curriculum that shows her learning is fun, is a curriculum I want.
—Tonya Franks
We have been using Teaching Character Through Literature this school year and it has been an incredible experience. The guide has wonderful book lists, as well as an author list. We are a family of readers and I try to make sure my kids have a rich selection of quality, wholesome literature. I also think books can provide mentors for children, as well as adults. The lesson guides included in this study guide are wonderful - short reading assignments and a couple of questions designed to get the young reader thinking not only about the characters and what is going on in the story, but also reflecting on how the character's experiences can translate to their own lives. In this way, the characters can potentially be literary mentors to our children. This is the first study guide we have used, and I have to say we are totally sold on Beautiful Feet - the quality of the guides are just incredible. We have already purchased History of the Horse to use over the summer, and I've revised our History plans because I want to switch over to the Beautiful Feet guides - this fall we will start Ancients.
—Delaware Michelle Mitchell
Wonderful and kind service! And such beautiful books. If you want to know how much they care for their customers look at their bruised bookshelf sometime when you are on the central coast of California. They are hard to find, those bruises. They have very high standards when it comes to fulfilling your orders with the best books they have!
—Martha Haley
We all love the d'Aulaire books in our house! They tie so well with our Classical Conversations cycle this year, are beautifully illustrated and informative! Also Beautiful Feet has the best price!
—Valentina Pardi MacGregor
Beautiful Feet Books continues to have the best of picks that make my kids want to listen or read and devour any book they retrieve from this company! I know anything I pick here especially as a homeschool mom will be rich and enjoyable!! Thank You for making finding GREAT books so easy!!
—Lindsey Winters
Beautiful Feet Books is truly a beautiful way to teach our children about our world. There is NO better way than to learn about life than through wonderful books! Having BFB's put them together for us is such a blessing for us homeschooling parents!
—Kellie Damron
We love BFB so much! Before BFB I didn't like reading history. I love history in novel form for myself so I went on the search for something similar, but for kids. I didn't want to put a curriculum together myself. I was so relieved and excited to find BFB! It was a perfect fit and when we finished our first year, the kids wanted more! History is alive and loved in our home thanks to BFB!
—Angela Radzyuk
We purchased the teaching character through literature for our summer reading and we absolutely love all the book suggestions as well as the study guide. Beautiful Feet books is one of my favorite places to order our books from!
—Lisa Jones
This is my first year using Beautiful Feet Books. I'm using Early American Intermediate history set. I love the easy and simple guide. Each lesson is fun and direct. I'm glad I discovered this fun curriculum for history.
—Crystal McKinley
Beautiful Feet History of Science is absolutely hands down the best science curriculum. No one else, except Beautiful Feet, has taken rich literature and taught science. When my older children were younger we used this very curriculum and in return it launched them into their jr./high school studies with a great foundation. We have younger children whom we have adopted and they too will go through this curriculum, I can't wait. The books used are ones you'll want to keep forever.
—Deanna Marcum
Good morning! I wanted to reach out and say a HUUUUUUGE THANK YOU to Josh!! About a month or so ago, I called to ask some questions and he answered my call. We spoke in great lengths about the right fit for my autistic son and I asked more questions then I care to admit:) He took his time responding and even let me know about stretching out the American History over 2 years! It’s so very rare to find a company that TRULY has the students best interests at heart and that’s what I felt with BF! We have since ordered the Geography and the Early American History! Thank you again for showing respect to the student and for providing (hands down) the BEST customer service! Blessings.
—Dave and Teri Hochadel
We've used BFB for a few years now, and it's all of our favorite part of the day. I love that I can count it for literature and history. The book selections are engaging and fantastic! I've also learned so much from the books that I didn't learn in school. Pilgrim stories is one book that I love so much that we reread it every November.
—April Price
I'm so excited to do the geography and character studies with my children this year. The Character Study Guide is well laid out and gives such thought-provoking questions. I also love the fact that there are lots of extra suggested titles for us to explore. I also bought the D'Aulaire biography set...I've had my eye on those a long while!! This is gonna be a great year!
—Shannon Richardson
I was introduced to BFB last year. It has been a wonderful way to help me include literature in all areas of learning. As someone who struggled in this area, I have been excited to see how helpful the study guides are in pointing me in the right direction. We have used Teaching Character and the Medieval History Intermediate Study Guide last year. We will be adding Geography as well as the IEW geography based writing lessons this year. Very excited about that!! Also continuing on to Early American History (both the intermediate and high school levels). AND Science. So nice to have a "go to" place to get great books with guides to help teach!!
—Jennifer Ward
I have been homeschooling for several years and like many if you, have spent countless hours searching for "the best" books and curriculum for my kids. Beautiful Feet definitely fits the bill as one of "the best". I want to buy everything BFB sells. It's that good. Each year I ask my kids what they want to keep for next year, every time they reply, "the one where we read all those books!". It's a win-win. Thoughtful and easy to use study guides for multiple ages. Inspiring and engaging living stories. Everything is high quality and sets the bar at "excellent".
—Mrs J Hodnett
Early American History for Primary Grades is packed full of engaging books-interesting to read and with beautiful illustrations. The d'Aulaire books are especially wonderful. What a great way to teach children history (and get a review myself along the way) with living books rather than a dry textbook. I have also loved the book selections from the Primary Character Pack. I'm looking forward to studying more history from Beautiful Feet Books with my children.
—Tiffany Keen Hamblin
Customer service was so helpful when I placed my order. We are so excited to have the Billy and Blaze series and the D'aulaire pack as part of our home library.
—Brenna Jean
We own many Beautiful Feet Books products and love them all! My children adore all of the books in the Early American History Elementary pack. As a parent and teacher, I appreciate the open-and-go nature of all of the study guides. We own History, Science and Character. Each study guide is laid out in such a way that I can open to a lesson I want to cover, see which books or pages we need to read, and complete the lesson without extensive preparation on my part. Each book we've used from Beautiful Feet Books is of high literary merit, moral integrity and teaches the material in personal, engaging ways. We will continue to use and purchase Beautiful Feet Books products!
—Aubrey Jane McLaughlin
Beautiful Feet is bringing back some of the best books that would be out of print otherwise.
—Lynda Dion
When asking my kiddos about this past year's favorites, my son enthusistically exclaimed, "History is my favorite!" I know this is in large part because of the wonderful, rich resources you have provided for our family! He has been able to make a solid, heart connection to the actual people throughout history - God's people, whom He loves dearly. History is not a "long ago, distant date" in which some random people happened to live. The novels you have selected have made "history" right here, right now for my kids. They care about the characters in these books. And because they care about them, they can grieve with them and can celebrate with them through the events that the characters experience. For me, this expands their worldview and their empathy toward others in the here and now.
Thank you so much for all you do to contribute to the heart education of the next generation! We are so blessed because of your efforts!
—Laura Smirnov
We used Early American History last year with our 3rd and 1st graders...and a toddler! It was our best year yet! Rich conversations and deep connections--that's why we're homeschooling. These books became the heart of our days.
—Kortney Garrison
In 1995 we began our first Literature Approach series, American History Primary. The following year, we studied Geography with the Hollings. What an incredible journey! Eleven children and 21 years later, we have taught these for the last time. As I was packing away our last set of maps today, it saddened me to think this part of my homeschooling had ended. Thank you for enriching our home school history! We never tired of these books and curricula! I still find my older children flipping through history picture books. Primary years behind us now, we still have much left to use over the next seven years with our youngest children, I had to let you know what a blessing you have been. May the Lord continue to bless your endeavors and those who choose to walk with Beautiful Feet!
—Sharon Markle
We love Beautiful Feet Books! This was my first year using Beautiful Feet Books; I ordered the Early American history packet. Before using Beautiful Feet, the kids grumbled about history; this year, they asked if we could keep doing history during the summer! Beautiful Feet's selections of living books is outstanding. I knew that we would be reading wholesome, engaging books. Benjamin West and his Cat Grimalkin was a favorite. Even my three-year old would listen and look at the pictures of some of the books while I was reading.
—Esther Diekevers
Rea Berg was fantastic on the Read Aloud Revival podcast! We have loved everything published by BFB. The D'aulaire books belong on every child's shelf. Such a treasure!
—Michelle Evans
My boys and I recently completed Beautiful Feet Book's Early American History study. Throughout the course of the year, I observed the impact these stories comprised of rich language and beautiful illustrations had on my children. Every time a book was slid off the shelf and pages were opened upon laps, there was an immediate engagement of interest that cultivated a growing appetite for truth, goodness and beauty. Because this study is comprised of "living books" we did not merely learn history, we lived history!
My boys lived in the places within the pages of these books. When the lessons were over they would carry the story out into the world and it would envelop their play and their conversations and their thoughts. They became friends with Washington and Leif and Benjamin West. One son began to record new inventions to share with Benjamin Franklin, his notebook filled with careful illustrations and copious notes on each invention and its purpose. Another son wrote down all the favorite character traits absorbed from each book. The boys would use them to encourage one another, saying, "Don't be afraid, have courage like Sarah Noble!" or "Lets be trustworthy and tell the truth like Abraham Lincoln!" There is so much power and potential in the materials we place into our children's hands, it truly does make an impression upon them! After reading these stories, my children grew in character, discernment and imagination.
This thoughtfully curated collection of books and carefully drawn guide permeated the very fiber of my sons childhood last year and aided in actively shaping who these boys are growing up to be. They would often reach for these books during their leisure time or during active play. It was not unusual to walk into their bedroom and find them curled up together, wearing Viking hats and reading Leif the Lucky aloud to each other. I loved watching them make maps of our home and neighborhood after reading the D'Aulaire book on Columbus. They mounted their bicycles and sallied forth, eager to find out what lay beyond the pages of their little maps. They called themselves, "The Columbus Cartography Corps of Courage." After Benjamin West carefully sheared the hairs off the tail of his beloved cat Grimalkin's tail in order to fashion a paintbrush, the boys spent the remainder of the afternoon outdoors, making their own paintbrushes out of ferns and palm fronds and chicken feathers. After little Edward took up his grandfather's antique matchlock gun to guard his family, we spent the rest of the week researching European weaponry from the 16th-18th centuries.
This study holds multifaceted learning opportunities that reach beyond "just history." These lessons touched on botany, biology, cartography, oceanography, nautical archeology, anthropology, foreign language, art appreciation, world culture, religious studies, arms and armor, agriculture, ethics, government, mathematics, etc. And it wasn't forced upon them, it was simply there, tucked in the pages, waiting to be discovered. We were not bound by stale textbooks. Our boys were free to investigate the myriad potential of each story. Yet the lessons were never overwhelming, which is probably why they were still able to feel that yearning to discover more! It is a difficult thing to find lessons that are rich and meaningful, yet approachable and achievable. The Early American History study accomplished that delicate balance. This curriculum is thoughtfully organized and carefully balanced, the lessons are just the right size for my children, well within their grasp but still a gentle challenge and of manageable duration. When the books closed the children were left begging for more! They rushed in the next day, eager for "what happens next!"
We enjoyed a beautiful year together, my relationship with my boys grew in new layers as we shared these experiences together. As a homeschool mother I am sometimes tempted to ask, "What have the children learned so far?" but in this study I was compelled to ask, "Who are my children becoming?" The latter question holds much more value to me.
We have completed 3 different studies now and plan on purchasing several other Beautiful Feet studies to explore together in the coming years. I am thankful to have found this truly exceptional company!
—Elsie Ludicello
Beautiful Feet Books equals freedom in your homeschool. Children all ages will enjoy listening to the historical stories, making a notebook and discussing what they have heard. As a Mom to four children, three of them struggling readers, Beautiful Feet has built a family bond around wonderful literature.
—Janet Cruz
I am so excited about recently discovering Beautiful Feet Books! I have realized that studying history is a key to my children knowing what is truly important in life. I am so excited to have Beautiful Feet to guide us on this journey. I have been telling all my friends about this little treasure! —Jillian O'Connors
I feel blessed to have BFB. I know our homeschool journey with BFB will be memorable and blissful! Yes, Blissful. To be wild and free and to Take Joy in the moment. And Beautiful Feet Books is a wonderful tool to do so! I am so excited. We love the D'aulaire books. Very thankful for the history and geography that comes to life!! Not only through the D'aulaire books, but the study guides as well. The most perfect guide and questions for the beautiful books. Each picture in the D'aulaire is truly breathtaking! We are using Medieval History next year. My boys and I can't wait to review and dig in! —Amy Kneen
Our children are enjoying the Early American History program so much! The book selection is excellent and captivated even my 4 year old who likes to join in. We are now studying Columbus and because they are loving it so much we plan to continue throughout the summer (we normally just do the 3Rs during the summer). I am thankful to have found Beautiful Feet Books and plan to continue using your curricula through the years to come.
—Min Hwang
I used this study guide as we were studying Early American History. It brought so much depth to our study and added so much richness! The books that are studied were all so good and my daughter loved reading through them all. The questions and activities suggested helped me to connect it all and brought so much understanding to our study. It is so easy to use with very little planning. I highly recommend any of BF's programs for a literature rich history curriculum!
—Maggie Popp
We were delighted to discover the D'Aulaire Biographies thanks to Beautiful Feet Books this year, and incorporate them into our Social Studies. I appreciated how the gorgeous artistry drew the children in, and then the stories were so well written that the line between learning and enjoying a good book was, happily, blurred. I see a similarity between sneaking vegetables into the middle of a delicious casserole so that children will eat nutritious food without knowing it's there; if they don't see learning as a chore, but as enjoyable - and what child does not want to have a beautiful story read to them?- then you have accomplished a great first step in making them life-long learners. Thank you, Beautiful Feet Books! We look forward to using you in the future, as well!
—Claire Pass
The lesson guides included in the Teaching Character study guide are wonderful - short reading assignments and a couple of questions designed to get the young reader thinking not only about the characters and what is going on in the story, but also reflecting on how the character's experiences can translate to their own lives. In this way, the characters can potential be literary mentors to our children. This is the first study guide we have used, and I have to say we are totally sold on Beautiful Feet - the quality of the guides are just incredible.
—Michelle, DE
Beautiful Feet Books has completely taken over our reading at home. I am so grateful for books that teach my children character and history with powerfully beautiful language. Thank you BFB!
—Jami Meredith
Beautiful Feet Books completely changed the way we homeschool. Instead of books and reading aloud being something we struggle to fit in amongst the other core subjects, they have become "the" avenue for learning. I had the privilege of hearing Rea speak on using quality literature to teach and I was encouraged that we could do it. The books they've chosen are stunning and the study guides break the readings down into short, uncomplicated lessons, making it very easy to implement. We began with the Geography through Literature pack using the gorgeous Holling C. Holling books. The beautiful hands-on maps were filled in by the kids and coordinated with our readings. My kids begged to do the Beautiful Feet lessons. If for that reason alone, I can't speak highly enough about these products!
—Rebecca Nibbelink
My third grader has really loved the stories that we are reading as we study the rich history of our country, and I have enjoyed learning alongside her. We are hooked! Currently, we are reading Stories of the Pilgrims, and it has been so much more interesting than reading out of a textbook! It is really coming to life for her and makes her want to learn more. We look forward to many years of using Beautiful Feet.
—Jill, TX
I wanted to tell you that when I told my boys that we were going to be starting school this week, the first thing they said was, "Do we get to do history?" They were so excited to get started back with Beautiful Feet Books. Sometimes life can be difficult but just knowing that we make a difference in the lives of other people truly makes all the difference in our own doesn't it? You have given my kids love of history that only a history-major-for-a-mom could truly appreciate.
—Claire, CA
Thank you for your products. You have brought beauty, imagination and truth in their hearts and minds. As a result my daughters love to read and write interesting and colorful stories. You certainly pass the Philippians 4:18 rule in our household. Thanks for your quality publications.
—Silvana, PA
"I just got my latest order from you which is the new Modern American and World package. Thank you, it looks great! I decided to go ahead and order the whole package even though we already own some of the books because I thought some of our books could use a little freshening up after 20 years of homeschooling. I have used and enjoyed your original guides, but these revisions are wonderful. You are doing an awesome service to the home school community. Keep up the good work!"
—Colleen, OH
"I just wanted to write a note to tell you how much my family and I have enjoyed your curriculum. The selection of literature chosen, or recommended, has been an excellent enrichment of the text and period of history under study. The follow up writing assignments have been thorough and meaningful and have helped my children develop solid skills in writing, and researching expository material. All in all I have felt that my children have received an excellent historical, rather than revisionist, education and have enjoyed the process. My 16 year-old daughter just completed her high school studies and has felt that Beautiful Feet curriculum has been a tremendous preparation for taking, and passing, her CLEP (College Level Exam Program) exams in History and the Humanities. Not only has she earned 45 college credits but she has learned history accurately, from a Christian worldview, and often excitedly shares with the family what she's learned. After taking her U.S. History I CLEP exam she commented, 'How much people miss from history when they don't learn about God's hand in it!' Thank you for blessing our family in this meaningful way."
—Rena, CO
"BFB changed everything about our homeschooling. I started out very hard core new Classical but the kids never clicked with it. The style didn't flow with our family. I also wanted the kids to learn American History. I stumbled on BFB in the comment section of a blog. I struggled for a year over purchasing the Primary Early American History mostly because I could not understand the literature based style. I read plenty of forums where people said they enjoyed the study but very little information on implementation. We are now nearly finished with the study and have loved every minute of the guide. The kids really responded to this way of study and everything in our home school changed. All of us look forward to school time together. Our day is more relaxed and I think their learning has increased. The books BFB chose for their studies are amazing. I've never read any of these books before and have enjoyed them as much as my kids... maybe more so. The kids have enjoyed writing and drawing in their composition book. I love that we use the Bible and talk about character and virtues. I loved that my son found connections between Leif Ericson and Benjamin Franklin through Proverbs. I add projects and recipes for each book we study. I've enjoyed this change in our schooling so much that I've shared our journey through Primary Early American History on my blog. I struggled so much with this purchase that I wanted to share our journey through the curriculum for other home educators who may have the same questions and concerns. This summer we are working through the Geography guide. For next school year we will work through History of Science and my oldest will begin Ancient History and then move onto Medieval. We love the books so much you'll never see them for sale! I tell everyone I know about these guides!"
—Audria, KY
"I love your History Curriculum! I am a former elementary school teacher who is homeschooling my children and I have never seen any History Curriculum like this! Thank you for offering this curriculum. I share it with all my homeschooling friends."
—Laura
"Thank you again for your help! It is great knowing I can always depend on Beautiful Feet for wonderful books that I can place into my kids hands and not worry about what they are reading! Thanks to you all and of course the Lord, they love to read! Yet again, BFB has made me one BLESSED homeschooling mama and customer! Thank you so very much!"
—Julie, Guam
“I just wanted to let you know that my daughter and I have been using your studies going on seven years now. We've completed: Early American History, Early American and World History, History of Science, History of the Horse, Geography, and Ancient History. We have always used the approach that you suggest of reading together and aloud. My daughter is now 15 years-old and in the 10th grade, which is a grade ahead of where she would have been in regular school. In October, at age 14, she took the PSAT and received a score of 161 which would be 1610 on the SAT, and a few weeks ago she took the ACT and scored 22 which is average for an 18 year-old high school graduate! Her reading and literature scores are the highest sections on both of these tests. I truly believe that her high scores are a reflection of your studies and the literature that you offer, and even more valuable is the time we've spent together enjoying reading. Thanks so much!”
—Terri
“I was looking at your Primary American History jumbo pack on-line and I had to move away from the computer to take care of the baby for a few minutes and when I came back, I found my 1st grader pouring over the picture on the computer. She was sounding out the titles of the books. She said, "Oh, Mommy! These look like wonderful books! Can you buy them for me? They aren't quabble!! Look, this one says it's about George Washington! I LOVE George Washington!!!" She was THRILLED when I told her that we ARE going to get them next year!”
—Angela, MN
“I absolutely love your products. I continually recommend them to friends and people I meet at homeschool bookfairs who are looking for history curricula.”
—Ginger, TX
“This is the first time we have used Beautiful Feet and my daughter and I are thoroughly enjoying the lessons! It's been fun, interesting and I love how you have incorporated character building in the lessons. Thank you so much for a great history curriculum based on God's Word.”
—Bonnie, OH
“Our son is really enjoying this curriculum [Ancient History Through Literature]. Thanks again.”
—Marjorie, CO
"I sing the praises of Beautiful Feet Books. Our History lessons have come alive! Your curricula completely engage my children. Learning about history from a Godly perspective is something that is sorely lacking in today’s age. Thank you for taking the rote memorization out of a subject that should be so rich and full of life. Keep up the excellent work!"
—Angie
"Oh how we love our lesson plans for history from BFB! History has come alive in our house this year teaching both young and old alike. Thanks!"
—Rhonda
"We love your high quality literature and excellent prices. Thank you!"
—Jennifer
"Last spring my husband came across the Beautiful Feet Catalog I had received in the mail. After reviewing the catalog he commented we should seriously consider using Beautiful Feet as our primary history curriculum. When I asked why he commented “This is the best history curriculum I have ever seen!” We placed and order for Early American History Primary package. When the box came it was like Christmas day! Our eight year old daughter dove into the box pulling out the D’Aulaire books yelling “Hooray!” Each evening my husband and daughter read history together, while I sit and listen to the stories. Your curriculum has been a huge blessing to our family. Thank you for your dedication to the homeschooling community!"
—Kathy, WI
"This was our first year using Beautiful Feet Books. I was blown away by all the information contained in these books! I wish my history classes had been this detailed and fun. My 8th grader (and I) love learning history this way and will continue using Beautiful Feet Books through high school!"
—Shannon
"Thank you for your wonderful products. What a blessing they are to my family!"

"I used your products to homeschool my son, now I am tutoring other children using your material and having parents purchase from you because I am sure of the quality product they will get! God Bless!"
—Renee Ann
"If the teaching is not memorable, there will be no real learning. Your literature-based approach made the study of Early America so memorable – now I am using it again, for my 2nd grade son… and will use it for the ones after him. We look forward to using the Ancient History and the History of Science as well."
—Paige, NY
“I have just recently discovered your History and Geography program and I am thrilled. Thank you for serving the Lord in such a mighty way to help our children to grow and learn in the Lord!”
—Karen, MD
"Thank you for the wonderful collection of Geography books. Our family has recently completed Paddle to the Sea and the geography study in combination with IEW’s writing curriculum specifically designed for the collection. It has been a fantastic time of exploration in geography, science, history, culture, literature, writing and vocabulary for our 12 and 9 year old boys! The map is stapled to a large board with colored pencils, thesaurus, dictionary, science encyclopedia and atlas ready. We were excited to find out where Paddle went each day and are sorry it has ended. We are currently re-reading the story to enjoy the literature along with the new appreciation we have of our world. On our next break, we look forward to doing the same activities with Tree in the Trail and so on. Thank you for the quality literature and lovely geography study!"

“I just wanted to write you a quick note and tell you how much we are enjoying the Beautiful Feet books. We loved all of the books. This year we are loving the U.S. and World History. We are so enjoying the books. Thank you for your great book choices. We are really happy with all that we are reading. I would not have felt as good about last year had it not been for Beautiful Feet. Thank you again.”
—Tammy, CA
“I have loved using Beautiful Feet curriculum through the years.”
—Debi, TX
“We used your Ancient History study this past year and LOVED it! I am learning things as a home school mother that I never learned in public school. I am getting my second education through your study guides. Keep up the great work. Our family has truly benefited from your product!”
—Lynna, TN
“I want to let you know I have searched for a history program for 3 years and have tried a few in the process and was so frustrated with what was out there until I came across BFBOOKs in the Cathy Duffy book. It's amazing how my child loves history now and actually doesn't want to stop reading when that days lesson is suppose to end. Even though it is primary level I myself am learning a lot also. Thank you for publishing this wonderful program.”
—Donna, GA
“You have GREAT programs. We just finished Early American History Intermediate. My 4th grade son and 6th grade daughter loved it. Thank you so very much.”
—Noreen, FL
“I have ordered many of your sets and love your books and guides. I love the living book way of teaching. Just to let you know, I used the Early American History for Primary grade package with my first and third grade girls and they learned so much more than with the traditional history textbook approach. They actually remember the information! Thank you for this wonderful material.”
—Leeanna, OK
“One of the great bonuses of parenting is that you get to introduce books to your own kids that wowed you when you were a kid yourself. Sometimes your children love the books as much as you did; sometimes they don't. But in either case, you get to revisit with old friends and see how much you and they have changed and retained over the years. Some of my best book friends when I was a kid were the wonderful illustrated histories of Genevieve Foster, and the one I loved most was Augustus Caesar's World. I recently introduced it (and a few others: George Washington's World, Abraham Lincoln's World, The World of Captain John Smith, World of Columbus's and Sons) to my [son], and he's discovering the magic in them I did so many years ago. There are three qualities to Augustus Caesar's World that make it so entertaining and educating. The first is that it's incredibly well written. Foster has the gift of breathing life into historical accounts. In reading about Cicero's execution or the life of Siddhartha, for example, one experiences all the dreadful waste of the one and the liberating wonder of the other. Second, the book is wonderfully illustrated by Foster herself. The illustrations are themselves instructive: along with individual scenarios, she provides time-lines, illustrated most fetchingly, that conveniently encapsulate events and persons. Finally, Foster's histories are really world histories. In Augustus Caesar's World, she focuses on the events leading up to the end of the Roman Republic and the establishment of the Empire (roughly, 44BC to 14AD). But she doesn't limit herself to Roman history; she also examines events taking place across the world during the time frame in which she's working: the druids in Gaul, Hindus in India, Confucius in China, Mayans in the Americas, and so on. She even includes intellectual history: the origins of Christianity and Buddhism, the Upanishadic culture of the Hindus, etc. Her aim is to give the reader a wide angle of vision, and she succeeds wonderfully. I'm grateful that Foster's histories are being republished. They don't patronize kids by resorting to silly gimmicks that supposedly make learning more palatable (or at least more marketable). Instead, they make history fascinating the old fashioned way: by showing that it's a great story in its own right. They're a great discovery for my son, and a great rediscovery for me.”

“This is the first year we have used Beautiful Feet and the first year that we have remembered any of our history lessons!”

"LOVE this curriculum!"
—Lynn, CA
"I used your Ancient History, Medieval History and U.S. and World History courses for my son who homeschooled for 6-9th grade and daughter who homeschooled for 6-8th. They are now back in public high school, attending a supposedly a very academically challenging school. Not only have they aced their World History course (they would only allow the U.S. and World History to count as either US or World History in their transcripts) but on the California standardized test for History my son got 100% of the questions correct in 3 out of 4 sections. In the 4th section, he told me "Mom, I know I missed 2 and I know which ones. They were wrong. They were looking for the accepted answer which is incorrect if they really knew their history". What can I say? Your product is phenomenal. Your selection of quality literature and the vocabulary they garnered from it probably explains why they scored in the 98th percentile of the PSAT. Thank you. I am now starting my Kindergardener and 2nd grader on your Early American course."

"After using Beautiful Feet for a few years, we tried a ‘box curriculum’ last year. My children were bored to tears (and I can’t blame them). Your books make learning history fun and exciting. Your study guides are well written and easy to follow. Thanks for a job well done!"
—K. Funk, MI
"Thank you for putting on paper what I had in my heart. We must be kindred spirits! God bless you."

"In June of this year our family completed our very first year of home school . . . Praise the Lord! What an awesome year! I am a 44-year-old mommy who failed history in the public school. But God is turning that all around. ‘Docendo discimus: While we teach, we learn.’ (Latin Proverb) Each one of us together, reading and studying through literature, learning that none should fail! You have filled our hearts and minds with the love of God, the love of country and the love of those who have gone before in strength and courage on our behalf."
