About Us

It started with a mom. Rea Berg knew she wanted something different for her children's education. She knew that childhood is short, and that this brief window is our greatest opportunity to nurture connections with our kids and lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. So Rea decided to put her degree in children's literature to use and began building literature-based history curriculums for her family. It wasn't long before her friends were asking for copies of her curriculums... And the rest is, well, history.

Meet Josh Berg

Josh joined BFB full-time in 2013 and then acquired his parents' business in 2019. As a former homeschool student and now a father of four homeschooled children, he brings a deep and personal understanding of the homeschool journey to his role as CEO. With a passion for equipping and empowering parents, he is dedicated to creating curriculum that nurtures lifelong learning and brings families closer together.

Our History

Founded in 1984, Beautiful Feet Books was created to bring history to life for homeschoolers through rich, story-based learning. Inspired by Charlotte Mason’s philosophy, we offer literature-driven curriculum, teacher guides, and curated book packs that make subjects like history, science, and literature engaging and meaningful. Still family-owned, our mission is to support parents in creating joyful, thoughtful learning experiences without busywork.

Courage

Homeschooling takes courage. It means stepping away from the familiar to choose a different, intentional path. We’re proud to walk this bold journey with you.

Optimism

Optimism is the heart of the homeschooling journey. It's the belief that challenges can be overcome and that learning can be joyful. It's the belief in our children's potential and in our own ability to teach them.

Open-Handedness

We believe in living and working with open hands. That means sharing our knowledge generously, and remaining willing to grow, change, and learn alongside the families we serve.

Wisdom

40 years of creating curriculums has equipped us with a hard-earned wisdom about homeschool, education, and parenting that guides the way we design our curriculums and support you.
